Job description: Undertaking the felling, cutting, pruning and surgery functions on the verges and municipal facilities
under the eThekwini Municipality.
Key Responsibility AreasPrepares for the day’s work by participating in daily team planning sessions in order to
execute allocated tasks safety, efficiently and effectively.
Attends to the felling, cuttings and pruning of trees and woody vegetation within allocated
area.
Maintains allocated small plant and equipment in a clean and functional condition
Ensures Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations are complied with.
Assists members of the general public.

Essential RequirementsAppropriate level of primary education
Valid First Aid Certificate.
Certificate of competence in the operation of the following small plant and equipment
Cherry Picker, Chain Saw, Woodchipper, Stump Grinder, Climbing and Tree Felling, Crane,
and Chemical Spraying or to be obtained within 6 months of date of appointment.
6 Months relevant experience.
Preferred RequirementsAppropriate level of secondary education.
1 Year relevant experience.
