Job description: Job Summary Employer DescriptionOur client is a Chemical Manufacturing companyJob DescriptionOur client based in Pretoria has an opportunity for an energetic individual to join their team in the capacity of a Procurement Officer . The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
- Negotiate prices for materials in accordance to demand seasonality
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier’s reputation
- Assist Procurement Manager with planning and procurement of raw materials (Import & local), as guided by procurement policy and procedure
- Supplier performance management
- Develop and implement an effective supplier base and partnerships to create a reliable and long-term source of supply
- General Admin Duties, such as regular follow ups, update price schedules, approved supplier list.
- Any other related Duties
Qualifications
- Matric
- Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management or Equivalent
Skills
- Atleast 3 years experience in the similar role
- Experience in Chemical Procurement will be an added advantage
