Job description: Job SummaryHire Resolve is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Supervisor to join a well-established Chemical Manufacturing firm in Durban. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the mechanical maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation of machinery and equipment throughout the facility.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical technicians, providing guidance and expertise in maintenance practices.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve reliability and efficiency of equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of machinery to identify maintenance needs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production goals and minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Requirement:
- Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Millwright trade test.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical supervision, preferably within the chemical industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, and conveyor systems.
- Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance strategies.
- Proficient in maintenance management software and data analysis.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
