Job description: Job Summary Our client in Dubai is looking for a skilled Commissioning Engineer who is ready to relocate to the Middle East and join their team.Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field)
- Registration as a Candidate Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is beneficial
3-5 years of relevant experience in commissioning within the EPC sector, including experience with systems testing and startup * Strong understanding of commissioning processes, systems integration, and troubleshooting.Familiarity with commissioning and testing software tools and systems (e.g., SCADA, DCS). * Familiarity with the systems being commissioned, such as mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process systems.Responsibilities:
- Planning and Preparation: Develop commissioning plans and procedures for systems and equipment. Coordinate with project managers and engineering teams to establish commissioning timelines.
- System Verification: Conduct pre-commissioning checks to ensure that all systems are installed correctly and meet specifications. Verify that systems are functional before formal commissioning begins.
- Testing and Commissioning: Execute commissioning tests and procedures to validate the performance of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems. Document test results and ensure compliance with design requirements and standards.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues that arise during the commissioning process. Collaborate with engineering teams to address and rectify deficiencies.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all commissioning activities adhere to safety regulations and best practices. Conduct risk assessments and safety audits during commissioning activities.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities, including test results, procedures, and any changes made. Prepare commissioning reports for project stakeholders.
- Training and Handover: Train operations staff on system functionalities and maintenance requirements. Assist in the formal handover of commissioned systems to the client or operations team.
- Coordination: Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and contractors to ensure seamless project execution. Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and next steps.
- Post-Commissioning Support: Provide support during the initial operational phase to address any issues that arise post-commissioning. Gather feedback to improve future commissioning processes.
