Job description: Job SummaryAbout the roleOversee daily farm operations, from cultivating to harvesting crops. Schedule repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery. Monitor and resolve any health and safety concerns on the farm. Supervise a team of workers, ensuring activities run smoothly and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesOversee daily farm operations to ensure productivity and efficiency.Implement farming practices and techniques to enhance crop yield and livestock health.Develop and manage the farm’s budget, monitor expenditures, and optimize financial performance.Handle financial records, prepare reports, and analyze data to inform business decisions.Recruit, train, and supervise farm staff.Negotiate contracts and set prices for products.Manage relationships with buyers, distributors, and suppliers.Develop long-term plans for farm development and expansion.Ensure the farm complies with environmental regulations and sustainable practices.Develop and implement risk management strategies.Requirements
- A degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Crop Production, or a related field.
- Must not have taken part in the YES Program before.
- South African unemployed youth aged between 18 and 34
- Knowledge of farm management practices and principles.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety.
