A large activations and promotion agency in Randburg is looking for a Power BI Developer to establish this function within the company.Role Overview:
As a Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. You will collaborate closely with the client service team, business stakeholders, and other IT professionals to ensure data accuracy, optimise performance, and deliver insightful dashboards and reports that support decision-making processes.Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Develop interactive and visually compelling Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualisations based on business requirements.
- Data Modelling: Create and optimise data models, DAX calculations, and queries to ensure efficient and reliable reporting.
- ETL Processes: Design and manage ETL processes to transform data from various sources into Power BI, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Performance Optimisation: Optimise report performance through proper data model design, query optimisation, and report configuration.
- Collaboration: Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements, gather feedback, and iteratively enhance reports and dashboards.
- Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources, including databases, cloud services, and third-party applications.
- Documentation & Training: Create documentation for data models, processes, and reports. Conduct training sessions to empower users to leverage Power BI effectively.
- Troubleshooting: Address any issues related to data accuracy, visualisations, and report performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in designing and developing reports/dashboards using Power BI.
- Strong proficiency in data modelling with Power BI.
- Experience with SQL and Python.
- Knowledge of integrating Power BI with other platforms such as Azure, SharePoint, or Dynamics 365 is a plus.
- Ability to transform business requirements into technical specifications and intuitive visualisations.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience in the marketing or promotions industry.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and data modeling techniques.
Expected salary: R25000 – 35000 per month
