Job description: Job Description :This is a remote position.Our client, an independent distillery, bar and events company, requires a remote, Accounting Officer with Xero experience to join their existing team. This role is based in South Africa, with a focus on UK finance to manage the financial requirements across the entire company.We are looking for a dynamic individual to handle the administration of the financial requirements across the company.Responsibilities:
- Maintain the accounting records on Xero across the business, including sales, purchases, staff costs and journals.
- Assist with the financial operations, including accounts receivables, managing payment planning, identifying and processing accruals and pre-payments, reconciling bank statements and payment portal ledgers and preparing reconciliations with counterparties as appropriate.
- Ensure clear audit trails are maintained on supporting applications such as Dext, Expend and Excel.
- Take ownership of management accounting by ensuring that the reporting can be prepared on both a summary and detailed level across departments and is realistic against the underlying timing of events on an accrual basis.
- Use your detailed knowledge of the business to compile forecast and budget data and work with the external consultant to populate forecast and variance analysis.
Requirements
- Previous accouting experience
- Relevant accouting qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in maintaining accounting records, Xero
- An understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits and the accrual basis
- Strong attention to detail with experience in resolving reconciliation queries and discrepancies
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
